- Software Engineer, Summer Intern
- Applied Intuition has posted general software engineering summer internships in past cycles, with interns placed on product teams working across the stack. No general software internship was posted as of September 2026, so treat this track as irregular.
- Research Intern
- A graduate-level track in the Research Group, on topics such as end-to-end autonomous driving, 3D vision, reinforcement learning, and robotics foundation models. Postings ask for current PhD or MSc students, and interns work toward papers for top conferences.
- New Grad roles
- Dozens of separate New Grad postings, including Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer, Research Engineer, Cybersecurity Software Engineer, and several hardware and test roles. Each names the graduation window it is hiring for.
When Applied Intuition posts internships
New Grad hiring runs on a fall schedule. For the 2027 class, the first batch of postings (for December 2026 and summer 2027 graduates) went up on August 14, 2026, with more added through early September. Roles fill as candidates clear the process.
Internship timing is looser. The current Research Intern postings went up in February 2026. Watching the careers page from August through spring covers most openings.

Who can apply
New Grad software roles ask for a BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a nearby field, graduating December 2026 or by summer 2027 for the current batch. Research internships target PhD and MSc students in machine learning, computer vision, graphics, or robotics.
Applied Intuition is an in-office company. Early-career roles are listed in Sunnyvale, and the company also has offices in Washington, D.C., San Diego, Ann Arbor, Munich, Stuttgart, Seoul, Tokyo, and elsewhere. Some defense-related roles carry U.S. Person or clearance requirements listed in the posting.
The interview process
Candidates commonly report a recruiter call, an online assessment with a few programming problems, and a technical screen. Later rounds are more coding interviews, sometimes twists on standard algorithm questions, plus a conversation about past projects.
The customers are engineering teams, so interviewers often probe how you would design a tool or system that other engineers would use. Working code alone won't cover it.
Tips for applying to Applied Intuition
- Apply to the New Grad role that fits you. If you like customer-facing work, Forward Deployed Engineer is a better target than the general Software Engineer posting.
- Simulation, robotics middleware like ROS, or graphics experience is a real differentiator here.
