- A 12-week summer internship where interns own a project end to end and ship production code. Product group teams (Base, Consumer, Developer, Institutional, Platform) are in San Francisco, and core teams (Security, Enterprise AI, Enterprise Engineering) are in New York. Any full-time return role afterward would be remote-first.
- Associate Product Manager Intern
- Twelve weeks owning a product area: defining requirements, running user research, and setting success metrics for a launch. The posting asks for prior product or technical cross-functional experience and demonstrated interest in crypto through coursework, projects, or the ecosystem itself.
- Data, ML, and design internships
- Coinbase also posts Data Science, Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Product Design, and User Research internships, all in San Francisco.

- A large set of New York-based business internships covers finance operations, strategic finance, credit and payment risk, internal audit, tax, sales, and people analytics.
When Coinbase posts internships

Who can apply
The software engineering internship asks for programming experience in any language, from school, personal projects, or work, and familiarity with at least one of web, mobile, backend, or infrastructure development. Responsible use of generative AI tools is listed as a required skill.
The APM internship asks for prior product or technical cross-functional experience and demonstrated interest in crypto. Candidates can submit at most three applications in a six-month period, so choose roles carefully. Interns work hybrid from San Francisco or New York, and Coinbase holds quarterly in-person working sessions it calls surges.
The interview process
Candidates report an online assessment after applying, then a recruiter screen and a live technical interview. Coinbase interviewers are said to care about production-quality code: readable names and handled edge cases count alongside speed.
APM candidates get product sense and metrics questions. Be ready to talk concretely about a crypto product you've used or built.
