Robinhood internships: when they open and how to apply
Robinhood's intern program is big and structured, spanning backend and mobile engineering through brokerage operations and fraud. It's also clear about timing: roles post by mid-September and most are filled before the calendar year ends.

The early-career programs it runs for students and recent graduates, by the names it uses for them.
- Software Engineering Intern
- Engineering interns join a team, own a project from scoping to production, and get a mentor. Tracks are Backend, Web, iOS, and Android, based in Menlo Park and New York (plus Bellevue for backend), with at least three in-office days a week. Canadian students can apply to Software Developer Intern roles in Toronto, including a winter co-op.
- Business and operations internships
- A wide set of business intern roles covers business analyst, finance and strategy, investment analyst, brokerage operations, crypto operations, fraud operations, risk, accounting, and growth marketing. They're spread across Menlo Park, New York, Chicago, Denver, and Washington, D.C.
- Associate Product Manager (New Grad)
- A full-time new grad PM role in Menlo Park or New York. It sits within Robinhood's broader new grad program, which also hires into engineering, customer experience, and credit analysis.
- Security internships
- Specialized security intern roles, such as offensive security and security risk management, went up a few days after the main batch this cycle.
When Robinhood posts internships
Robinhood's own page says roles post by mid-September, candidates are considered on a rolling basis, and most hiring wraps up before year end. For summer 2027, nearly all US engineering and business intern roles went up on September 14, 2026.
Internships run 12 or 16 weeks. Some new grad roles post earlier (the Business Analyst new grad role went up in late August), and Robinhood says starting as an intern is the best way into them, though it opens them to outside new grads too.

Who can apply
Interns must be full-time students pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, in their penultimate year of undergraduate or graduate study. The Summer 2027 engineering postings ask for a Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 graduation date.
Engineering postings ask for strong CS fundamentals and prior software experience from internships, hackathons, or personal projects. The backend stack includes Python/Django, Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Kubernetes, and interest in financial products is part of the stated profile.
The interview process
Robinhood publishes its steps: apply, an initial screen that is either a coding assessment or a recruiter chat depending on the role, a hiring manager interview with a possible role-specific assessment, and remote onsite interviews with team members before an offer.
Engineers can expect the coding assessment as the first screen. Business roles lean harder on analysis and on how you think about financial products and risk.
Tips for applying to Robinhood
- Get your application in during September. Robinhood itself says most hiring is done by the end of the calendar year.
- Target the right year: the program is built for penultimate-year students, so juniors in a four-year program are the core pool.
- Learn how US brokerage, crypto, and payments work. The postings mention getting into how the financial system operates, and interviewers notice domain curiosity.
