Lazard internships: when they open and how to apply

- Financial Advisory Summer Analyst
- Lazard's banking internship. Summer analysts join a sector or product team working on M&A, restructuring, capital markets advisory, and related mandates. The London version runs ten weeks, with interns assigned to one team for the whole program.
- AI & Data Group Summer Internships
- Roughly ten-week summer roles in New York for software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, and AI engineers who build tools for both the advisory and asset management businesses. Recent postings asked for strong Python skills.

When Lazard posts internships
U.S. Financial Advisory moves as early as the bulge brackets. Lazard's first summer 2027 postings appeared around December 2025, about eighteen months ahead, and were gone by the following fall.
Asset management and AI and data internships come later; the summer 2027 New York AI and data roles were posted in the fall of 2026. London Financial Advisory applications for 2027 opened September 8, 2026 and closed October 4.

Who can apply
Banking internships target penultimate-year undergraduates. The London Financial Advisory internship asks for students graduating the year after the internship, so 2028 graduates for summer 2027.
The AI and Data Group roles ask for a degree in computer science, machine learning, AI, or similar, availability in New York for the full internship, and hands-on Python experience.
The interview process
Candidates describe Financial Advisory interviews as technical and behavioral rounds with bankers: accounting, valuation, and why an advisory-focused firm over a larger bank. Lazard is known for restructuring and sovereign advisory, so interest in those areas may come up.
Technology and asset management teams interview their own candidates, with technical questions matched to the posting.
Tips for applying to Lazard
- Decide early between Financial Advisory and Asset Management. Different calendars, different postings.
- Be ready to explain why advisory work appeals to you. Lazard does not run the lending and trading businesses of a full-service bank.
