When Moelis & Company posts internships

Moelis says U.S. Summer Analyst applications open in December of sophomore year, about a year and a half before the internship. Last cycle fit the pattern: summer 2027 postings appeared around December 2025.

Other offices run on different clocks. London and Beijing summer applications open in August for the following year; Hong Kong opens in May. The U.S. Summer Associate program for MBA students opens in October.

Who can apply

The U.S. Summer Analyst program recruits undergraduates during sophomore year for the summer before senior year. Moelis welcomes all majors with an analytical mindset and does not require prior finance experience for campus programs.

You can submit up to two applications. If you are selected to interview for more than one role, you pick one to continue.

The interview process

U.S. and UK applicants complete the Suited assessment, which takes about 30 minutes, measures traits linked to success in banking, and only needs to be taken once. Then come one or two first-round interviews with bankers, covering technical and behavioral questions.

Second-round candidates attend an onsite final round with several senior bankers. Moelis suggests refreshing financial statements and valuation methods and reviewing its recent transactions beforehand.
