Tuition is covered and students are paid a salary.

Who can apply

Engineering internships are full-time work terms, so interns can't be enrolled full-time in school during the internship. Canadian postings require the right to work in Canada for the whole term and state that Shopify does not sponsor immigration; US postings list their own authorization rules.

Interns don't choose among the Canadian offices; Shopify assigns placements. Dev Degree is for students entering university and depends on admission to one of the partner programs.

The interview process

Keep a GitHub portfolio current. Shopify's own guide stresses projects, and the assessments reward practical building skills.
Canadian students on co-op calendars are the core audience, so line up your co-op term with Shopify's cycle early.
