Spotify internships: when they open and how to apply
If you're used to the US tech calendar, Spotify will surprise you. Its single Global Summer Internship Program, across New York, London, and Stockholm, recruits over the winter and closes at a firm deadline. It also explicitly accepts bootcamp students next to degree students, which few large employers do.

Internships and programs at Spotify

- Global Summer Internship Program
- A paid 10-week internship between June and August, in the office in New York, London, or Stockholm with no remote option. Tracks span business, product, and technology teams, including engineering, data, design, and research.
- Emerging Talent Program
- An eight month fixed-term extension offered to graduating Spotify interns in Product & Technology. It opens with structured onboarding on how Spotify works, then puts participants straight onto teams.
When Spotify posts internships
For summer 2026, postings closed at a hard deadline in early February, and Spotify told applicants to expect decisions by mid-April. Openings have appeared in the winter months before that deadline, not in August or September.
Spotify pulls postings at the deadline, takes no late applications, and only accepts applications through its own jobs site. Once the winter window closes, that summer is done.

Who can apply
The program is open to students in their graduating or penultimate year of an associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program, and to students in bootcamp certification programs. High school students are not eligible.
Internships are office-based in New York, London, or Stockholm, so you need the right to work in the country of the office you apply to. The Emerging Talent Program is only for Spotify's own graduating Product & Technology interns.
The interview process
Spotify describes three stages: a video or phone interview with a recruiter, a second interview with one or two team members, and a final round with several people from across the business. Interviews run over tools like Google Meet or Zoom.
Technical tracks may add skills assessments inside those stages, so engineering candidates should be ready to code. Spotify says a referral isn't needed and it doesn't hold informational calls before applying, so the application carries most of the weight.
Tips for applying to Spotify
- Don't wait for a fall opening. Plan around a winter window with a hard deadline, and have materials ready by January.
- Spotify welcomes portfolios, project links, and a short note on your work beyond the resume. Use them, especially for design, data, and product tracks.
- Choose your city deliberately. New York, London, and Stockholm have separate postings, and there's no remote option.
- Bootcamp and associate students should apply. Spotify names both as eligible, which few peers do.
